Can I swap my lenses out of my Prescription Sunglasses or Eyeglasses?

Technically, yes — but we strongly recommend letting us handle it to keep your eyewear in perfect shape. Prescription lenses are fitted very securely into your frame to ensure they sit flush and don’t shift or come loose under pressure. Unlike our standard lenses, which are light and easily interchangeable, prescription lenses tend to be thicker and heavier — so proper installation is key to maintaining a stable and comfortable fit.

How do I know my Prescription has been uploaded?

Accepted Answer

Once you’ve uploaded your prescription and pupillary distance (PD), you’ll get a confirmation email to let you know we’ve got everything we need.

How do I measure my Pupillary Distance?

Accepted Answer

The Pupillary Distance (the distance between your pupils) is crucial for us to make you the perfect pair of Prescription SunGods.

There are 2 ways you can get this:

Have your optician check this measurement and give you the PD number

Measure yourself at home, you can do this using a free app called GlassesOn - you'll only need your mobile and a magnetic card (like a debit/credit card or drivers licence, for example). If you're an Apple user, you can download the app here, if you're on Android, you can download the app here. The app will guide you through the process. Simply screenshot the result and send it to us.
Alternatively, we can process this for you by directly sending an image to us with the instructions below:

📸 Send us an image of your face ensuring the following:

Use a credit card-sized card and hold it flat against your forehead, without obscuring necessary areas of your face.
Take the photo at arm's length, level with your eyes.
Ensure bright, even lighting to minimize shadows.
Position your face and phone straight, avoiding any angled shots.

Once we have received this from you and verified the suitability of the photo, we will send your prescription off to the Lens Specialist for manufacturing. After shipping, you will receive tracking information for your order. 😊

Do you support prescriptions with astigmatism?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! 😎 Eyeglasses or contact lenses can correct astigmatism by adding cylindrical power to compensate for the uneven curvature of your cornea or lens.

If your prescription includes a cylindrical (CYL) measurement, then you’re all set. That CYL value helps correct the uneven curvature of your cornea — giving you the sharp, clear vision you deserve. Order your Prescription SunGods here.

How do I upload my prescription?

Easy! Once you’ve placed your order, you’ll be prompted to upload your prescription and PD (Pupillary Distance) directly on our website. Just follow the instructions provided on the email and you'll be good to go! 💪

Can I use my contact lens prescription for my SunGods?

To process your prescription order, we require a spectacle prescription. This allows us to make sure that your Prescription SunGods have the perfect measurements for you. 🫡

Please note that we only able to accept a prescription that has been issued within the last 2 years. Prescription may change over time, so if an older prescription document is provided, there is a risk that you glasses may not be working correctly. Additionally, we need your Pupillary Distance which your optician can provide you with. If you don't have this, don't worry! We have created this article to help you measure it at home. Do I need thinned lenses?

If your prescription is a little stronger (beyond -2 or +2 combined SPH & CYL for either eye), we recommend thinned lenses to keep your SunGods feeling light, balanced, and ultra-comfortable — without compromising on clarity or durability.

What is your returns policy?

We do not accept returns or exchanges for Prescription products due to the custom nature of prescription lenses. You can check out our return policy T&Cs here

How long will it take for me to receive my Prescription SunGods?

Accepted Answer

Great things take a little time — since your prescription pairs are custom made in accordance to your specific measurements, they are separately manufactured from the rest of our pairs, and they’ll land on your doorstep in around 2-3 weeks.

This is simply accommodating for any potential delays, however, this should be quicker. Once you’ve placed your order, sit back and relax — we’ll keep you in the loop with email updates every step of the way. Precision takes time, but your perfect pair is on the way! 😎

Do you offer prescription on your Limited Edition products?

Limited Edition models, such as the Lando Norris and McLaren collections, are pre-built to preserve their exclusive features. Due to this, we are unable to offer any upgrades or Prescription Lenses to customise these SunGods! These limited edition models are collaboration-specific designs. This means they are pre-built and unable to support customizations or special orders, ensuring that the exclusive features and preselected design elements remain intact. 😎

Prescription Lenses are currently only available with custom SunGod Lifestyle products, which you can find here. 👈

SunGod is also planning to introduce Prescription Lens Kits in the future, which would enable customers to insert prescription lenses into existing frames. While there is no confirmed timeline, customers can register their interest on SunGod’s page: Register Interest in Prescription Lenses.

Can I buy a Prescription Lens Kit for my Frames?

At the moment we are unable to offer standalone Prescription Lens Kits for your existing SunGods. 😅 The only way to grab a Prescription pair of SunGods is to buy a full product here.

Each prescription lens is custom-made specifically for its corresponding frame to ensure the best fit. Due to this custom-fit process, replacement lenses cannot be manufactured or provided as a stand-alone product. If your prescription lenses are damaged, you need to purchase a new pair of prescription sunglasses entirely.

Prescription lenses are designed to fit tightly within the frames. Attempting to swap prescription lenses between frames is not recommended, as it could damage either the frame or the lenses.
If you've added a spare set of lenses to your prescription order, the lenses are non-prescription standard lenses. If you require flexibility with interchangeable lenses, you may want to consider purchasing standard (non-prescription) sunglasses instead.

We are looking to offer Prescription Lens Kits in the future but we do not have a timeline for this yet. You can register your interest in this here. SunGod plans to offer replacement prescription lens kits in the future. These kits would allow customers to replace lenses in their existing frames instead of purchasing an entirely new pair.

However, there is currently no confirmed timeline for this feature.

Question 13

Do you offer Varifocal Lenses?

Currently, we offer single-distance prescription lenses only, and don’t yet support reading or varifocal options😅. That said, whilst we don’t have a firm timeline yet, we’re full speed ahead behind the scenes, working hard to expand our range and bring even more choice to our customers!

Specifically, single-distance lenses are ideal for activities like driving, sports, or general outdoor use where distance vision is essential, and they cater to either distance or near prescriptions to improve clarity and precision.

However, if there are any specifics around you prescription which you would like to discuss before committing to a purchase, don't hesitate to reach out to our team directly. They will advise you at the best of their ability so you can make an informed purchase 🙌

Question 14

My prescription is over two years old, can I still use it?

Accepted Answer

We are only able to accept prescriptions that are dated within the last two years.

This is because your vision can change over time, making your prescription inaccurate and no longer suitable to correct your eyes. If your prescription is out of date then this can cause eye strain, headaches, and blurred vision.

You can get eye tests and updated prescriptions from your local optician.

Do you offer prescription across your Snow and Pace Series?

We don't currently offer Prescription by SunGod across our Snow or Pace Series but we're stoked to say that we're working on being able to offer prescriptions in the future.
